Anne and Sébastien grew up in small family businesses and met at the viticultural school in Beaune. It was there that they grew together as a couple and with wine, so to speak. They acquired their first vineyard in 2000, and others have been added over the years. The domaine has grown to 5.4 hectares, including a few rows in the famous Clos de la Roche Grand Cru.
The vineyards of their joint domaine are planted primarily with old vines (some over 80 years old, as with the Chambolle-Musigny “Hermance”, or almost 90 years old for the Clos de la Roche). These bring out the essence and character of each respective terroir in a most impressive way. An understanding of the vineyards and the vintage is what makes their daily work so special. It requires a great deal of intuition, which is why new decisions are needed every year. Trends have never existed here, nor will they ever. In the cellar, you will find steel tanks for fermentation and the classic pièce (228l wooden barrels) made of French oak for aging.
The wines are full of structure, have depth in their fruit, and are very complex. You can taste that honest, unadulterated quality; the puristic Burgundian style; the seductive, captivating character—everything that every lover of fine Burgundy wines is looking for.
