The Niedernberg Chardonnay began its career under the name "S" and only later became a single-vineyard wine. What has not changed is that we are talking about one of the best Chardonnays in Germany. Fantastic fruit, a creamy texture to melt for, and a reductive, flinty nose. Burgundian. Yet somehow German. Damned well-balanced, perfect use of oak, and a taut structure with mineral nuances on the palate. You can tell that Christian worked at renowned estates in Meursault and was influenced by the famous Burgundians. Nevertheless, his wines do not seem like a clumsy copy, but rather like inspired independence, a consistent striving for origin and the highest quality standards. Niedernberg - we love you!
