Château Gruaud-Larose - St. Julien AC 2018

Gruaud Larose is considered one of the so-called "Super-Seconds," highly valued for their quality and consistency. In St. Julien, there are no 1st Growth (1er GCC) estates, and alongside the Léovilles, this château is one of the leading wineries in this sub-region of the Médoc. The vineyards surrounding the château are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Environmentally conscious cultivation and state-of-the-art technology, including optical grape sorting machines and many helping hands instructed to work with extreme precision, define the château's daily operations today. These efforts result in an elegant and noble wine, which, due to changes in ownership over the last few decades, has increasingly shifted toward finesse and is currently performing at a very high level.
