The Niedernberg Chardonnay began its career under the name "S" and only later became a single-vineyard wine. What hasn't changed is that we are talking about one of the best Chardonnays in Germany. Fantastic fruit, a meltingly creamy texture, and a reductive, flinty nose. Burgundian. Yet, somehow German. Damn well balanced, perfect use of oak, and a taut structure with mineral nuances on the palate. You can tell that Christian worked at renowned domaines in Meursault and was influenced by the famous Burgundies. Nevertheless, his wines do not come across as a clumsy copy, but rather as inspired independence, a consistent pursuit of origin, and the highest quality standards. Niedernberg - we love you!
