Cesare Bussolo - Barolo DOCG Commune di La Morra 2021

The grapes come from the village of La Morra in the Barolo region. Here, the wines turn out somewhat more fragrant and lighter than those from the eastern part of the Barolo area. The Tortonian soils are slightly lighter and sandier, yet still rich in limestone. The greatest wines in the world come from this region, and Cesare knows how to work with this terroir to vinify elegant wines. His focus on yield reduction stems from his mentor, Roberto Voerzio, for whom he still works as cellar master. Yields are pruned back to as little as 1kg per vine. The result is enormous power and great potential, but also a distinct signature and character. For us, the entire package is incredibly harmonious, and we were raised on this style of Barolo. Only about 4,000 bottles are produced annually.
