Château Gruaud-Larose - St. Julien AC 2019

Gruaud Larose is considered one of the so-called "Super Seconds," highly prized for their quality and consistency. There are no First Growths in St. Julien, and alongside the Léovilles, this château is one of the leading estates in the Médoc sub-region. The vineyards surrounding the château are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Sustainable cultivation, state-of-the-art technology—including optical grape sorting machines—and many helping hands instructed to work with extreme precision define the château's daily operations today. The result of these efforts is an elegant and noble wine, which, due to changes in ownership over recent decades, has shifted increasingly toward finesse and currently presents itself at a very high level.
