The Sancerre Rouge "Vendanges Entières" by Vincent Pinard is the absolute pinnacle of the estate – an uncompromising Pinot Noir from Bué that demonstrates the level Sancerre can reach beyond white wine. Old vines on clay-limestone soils, minimal yields, and radical selection form the basis for this exceptional wine.
Its name says it all: the grapes are fermented 100% as whole clusters – an elaborate, artisanal approach that gives the wine a unique structure, depth, and energy. Aged for around 18 months in used barriques, unfiltered and with minimal intervention – pure origin, unadulterated in the glass.
On the nose, the wine is complex and multi-layered with dark cherry, raspberry, floral notes, spices, and a fine earthiness. On the palate, it is powerful yet precise: juicy fruit, fine tannins, cool minerality, and enormous length. A Pinot Noir with a Burgundian sensibility but a clear Loire signature – elegant, deep, and with great aging potential.
A wine for connoisseurs and those with patience – best left to age for a few years. Perfect with game, duck, or aged cheese.
