Seehaldenhof - Nonnenhorn Chardonnay 2023

For Simon Hornstein, the grape varieties serve as a medium and conduit for the terroir of Lake Constance. They are deliberately kept in the background—the origin, the microclimate, and the soils around Nonnenhorn form the true core of his wines. Depending on the vintage and yield, it may happen that other Pinot varieties find their place in the Nonnenhorn village wine. In the 2023 vintage, this cuvée has been particularly successful: the Burgundian style stands out clearly—balanced, finely spiced, elegant, and surprisingly attractive. The influence of Lake Constance, with its cool climate, provides freshness, precision, and a lively acidity structure. The result is a fine, vibrant white wine from Lake Constance that scores with finesse, clarity, and elegance, finishing with a solid, impressive length—like a sunset behind a small sailboat on the Swabian Sea.
