Phillip Kuhn - Riesling "Schwarzer Herrgott" GG 2023

Compared to the Rieslings from Laumersheim and Kallstadt, the Riesling from Schwarzer Herrgott always needs a little more time to develop. At the beginning of its development, it even seems rather austere and impetuous. A palpable coolness surrounds the wine. Very subtle on the nose, where a chalky, smoky scent also emerges, along with delicate herbs and some yellow apple. On the palate, a true mineral monster, yet extremely juicy and with plenty of drive on the finish; meadow herbs and coriander, accompanied by a touch of Williams pear. The fruit always remains very delicate, with the gripping and dark minerality taking center stage; right at the very end, a delicate creaminess comes through, appearing almost Burgundian with its intense salinity and creamy finish.
