Grabenwerkstatt - Grüner Veltliner Ried Schön 2022

The "Schön" vineyard sounds inviting just by its name, and this Grüner Veltliner presents itself in exactly that way. The soil consists of paragneiss and is tailor-made for Veltliner. "Schön" is a slightly warmer site, but we are still talking about the Spitzer Graben and not Paarl in South Africa. The result is fresh, balanced white wines with fruity aromas of ripe apples, apricots, citrus fruits, and fine herbs. Elegant and with a tight structure, delicate and with a lovely pull and a long finish. The last sentence describes the Grabenwerkstatt perfectly!

Since 2021, Grabenwerkstatt has no longer been a member of the Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus, which is why you will no longer find the designations Federspiel/Smaragd on their labels. For the two winemakers, the vineyard sites (origin) are in the foreground, and classification based on must weight (potential alcohol) is becoming increasingly unimportant due to climate change.
