The La Serra vineyard site exists in other villages as well and is one of the Grand Crus of Piedmont. South-facing and situated on lime-rich soils (Helvetian), sun-drenched grapes grow here, resulting in slightly darker, ripe fruit aromas. Typical notes like raspberry are joined by black cherry and cassis. Ripe tannins coat the tongue like velvet, followed by a pull toward the back. Tight and mineral on the palate. A long finish, like a beautiful sunset behind the rolling Piedmontese hills. This is to die for.
