Domaine des Chasseignes - Sancerre red 2023

The Sancerre Rouge from Domaine des Chasseignes is an elegant Pinot Noir from the heart of the Loire Valley that impressively reflects the finesse and minerality of the region. The estate, managed by Aurore Dezat and David Girard, cultivates 9.5 hectares on classic Sancerre terroirs: Terres Blanches, Caillottes, and Silex. Since 2020, the winery has been in transition to organic farming.

The Pinot presents itself with a vibrant ruby-red color. On the nose, it unfolds precise, mineral aromas of red cherries, raspberries, blackberries, and blackcurrants, accompanied by floral notes such as cornflower and violet, as well as a hint of tobacco. On the palate, the wine is airy and juicy with lively acidity and finely structured tannins. The fruit aromas continue and are complemented by a subtle spiciness. The final note is fresh and slightly bitter, which gives the wine additional depth.
