160 years of winemaking tradition by the De Stefani family – and a wine that represents three decisive chapters of this history. The limited anniversary edition "160 Anniversario" is far more than a classic Veneto cuvée: it unites the origins, evolution, and future of the family estate in one bottle.
The foundation consists of Marzemino from the Grand Cru Stèfen 1624 in Refrontolo, where the family's story began; Merlot from Solèr, representing the estate's development in Fossalta di Piave; and Raboso Piave from the Grand Cru Malanotte – one of Veneto's most distinctive indigenous grape varieties, deeply rooted in the Piave Valley.
A portion of the grapes is dried before vinification, followed by fermentation in special concrete tanks. The wine is aged for 12 months in French barriques and a further twelve months in the bottle.
In the glass, the 160 Anni appears deep ruby red and complex. Ripe red fruits, dark spices, and balsamic notes are complemented as it matures by hints of cocoa, tobacco, and finely spiced nuances. Powerful and structured on the palate, yet harmonious, with silky, well-integrated tannins and a long finish.
Above all, however, the De Stefani 160 Anni is built for the future. The winery estimates an aging potential of up to 30 years, with the wine expected to show at its best after around ten to fifteen years. A limited anniversary edition for the cellar – and a piece of family history to drink.
