Château Latour - Grand Vin 2002

The 2002 vintage in Bordeaux was challenging overall, especially in comparison to the outstanding years that preceded it (e.g., 2000). A cool, damp summer required diligent work in the vineyard, but a sunny and dry September rescued the harvest, particularly in the Médoc. Cabernet Sauvignon, the primary grape variety in Pauillac, benefited significantly from this. Château Latour 2002 is regarded by connoisseurs as a very classic Pauillac – powerful, structured, and with clearly defined tannins. Despite the general restraint of the vintage, it displays typical Latour characteristics: deep concentration, firm structure, cedar, blackcurrant, graphite, and tobacco. Its aging potential is high; the wine is currently (2025) at a very beautiful peak of maturity, yet it can easily continue to age for another 10–15 years.
