Cesare Bussolo - Barolo DOCG Fossati 2020

The "Fossati" vineyard is one of the Grand Crus from La Morra. Calcareous Tortonian soils, with clay and a touch of sand, define the terroir. The bouquet is generous, with scents of raspberry, dark cherry, a hint of violet, menthol, fennel, undergrowth, and oak. Powerful in its tannins, yet simultaneously harmonious and hedonistic. A broad, culinary wine with plenty of elegance and stature. A salinity becomes apparent in the finish, reflecting the minerality of Fossati and making it unique. There is much that could be written about this wine, and it ranks as one of the most important in our portfolio.
