Castello Del Terriccio - Gian Annibale Toscana Rosso IGT 2019

For many years, the famous winery in the Maremma was managed by Gian Annibale Rossi di Medelana, who, in addition to wine, dedicated himself to professional equestrian sports, hunting, and olive groves. Despite his handicap following a riding accident, he tirelessly and passionately cared for Castello Del Terriccio until his death in 2019. The "Gian Annibale Toscana Rosso" is a tribute to his work and his life at the estate and has been the new flagship since its debut in 2023. The wine is an unusual and distinctive Super Tuscan, as the cuvée consists of 60% Petit Verdot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep and intense fruit aromas of cassis, black cherry, Mediterranean herbs, and wood unfold on the nose. On the palate, the wine presents itself as juicy and grippy; a polished and fine-grained tannin structure coats the tongue. In the finish, its noble elegance dances long into the night, caught in a fever of the ball.
