The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva from Gianni Brunelli is an outstanding expression of Sangiovese from Tuscany that combines power, elegance, and finesse. The grapes come from the high-altitude vineyards of Podernovone (500 m) and Canalicchio (250 m), which thrive on Galestro and clay soils. After a 30-day maceration, the wine is aged for 30 months in 25-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels and a further 6 months in 30-hectoliter barrels before bottling. Production is strictly limited to just 3,600 bottles.
On the sensory level, the 2019 Riserva delights with intense aromas of dark cherries, blackberries, lavender, and violets, accompanied by notes of exotic spices such as cardamom and nutmeg, as well as a hint of herbs like fennel and tarragon.
