Viñaguareña - Munia Especial 2020

The Viñaguareña winery is located in the D.O. Toro and is a relatively lesser-known small winery run by our long-time friend Julio. The Muñia collection comprises 3 levels of maturation and quality, with each wine standing on its own. The Especial is a Tinta de Toro (a clone of Tempranillo) aged for 24 months in French barriques. Intensive dark berries and subtle damson/plum in the bouquet. Intensive wood aromas, cigar box, clove; elegant, intense, and long on the finish.

There was a great award for the 2020 Especial, namely "Decanter Gold"!
