Hornstein am See - Nonnenhorn Pinot Noir 2021

Good things are so close. A lot has happened at Lake Constance in recent years, and the wines have become increasingly better thanks to a few dedicated and well-trained winemakers. Many factors influence this development, but Simon Hornstein is one of those who simply knows what he wants. The love for Burgundy cannot and should not be hidden. The wines are cool and fresh—what else could emerge from this "cool climate"? This Pinot Noir presents itself with delicate notes of light-colored berries, gliding across the tongue with animating acidity and fine tannins. A certain smoky note and mineral nuances appear here and there with great nobility and elegance.

The winery was renamed Seehaldenhof in 2024 to avoid confusion with other Hornsteins and to emphasize a commitment to the terroir. The Seehalde is the best vineyard site in the village and is, among others, owned by the Hornstein family. The wines under the "Hornstein am See" label are therefore also a piece of history.
