The prevailing clone of Tempranillo there is called \"Tinta Fino\"; it has slightly thicker skins, which makes the wines somewhat higher in tannins. Over the years, however, a very elegant style has also become established. Big names with world-class wines, such as the famous Vega Sicilia, are at home in Ribeira del Duero, and Peter Sissek is also leaving big footprints with his wines. The vines are cultivated partly in bush form (Spanish: en vaso) and partly using the Guyot training system. Summer temperatures are hot and dry, but it cools down at night. \"A jacket\" in the evening is no harm and an indication that the wines must remain fresh and not become jammy.
