The climate at Lake Constance is characterized by heavy rainfall. Unfortunately, this also repeatedly includes hail. Fortunately, the sandy and gravelly alluvial soils are able to absorb the water well. With intensive cover cropping between the rows, the vines are somewhat challenged and begin to compete. Ultimately, Lake Constance is the most important factor in this unique microclimate.
