His primary goal has always been to create great wines regardless of labels and trends. Traditional techniques, such as manual pigeage (punching down the cap), hand-harvesting and selection, as well as the use of handcrafted barriques, are the order of the day for all his wines. His most famous wine, Le Dôme, finally emerged from the shadow of the great chateaus over the past ten years with numerous \"high scores.\" The new, imposing building by star architect Norman Foster, situated in the midst of the vineyards (photo), manifests the tireless striving to belong to the top league. Most of the cuvées consist largely of Merlot and, depending on the vintage, are complemented by more or less Cabernet Franc.
